Yarmouth had two lifeboats, Caister and Gorleston.  Caister had a famous history.  "Caister men never turn back"  LINK
Lightships were stationed off shore around the coast, a miserable job for the crews.  
Maintenance was often carried out at Yarmouth. The "Trinity House" support ship, the "Warden" was a regular visitor.
